Easter's Almost Here

I am finally getting to play along with The Random Dozen over at 2nd Cup of Coffee! This week it is an Easter themed questionnaire:

1. How do you feel about the marshmallow Easter Peeps? I feel pretty good about them! They are cute and tasty!
2. Chickens are notoriously nervous creatures. When you are nervous, what is the best way to calm down? Deep breaths
3. People say, "April showers bring May flowers." Do you enjoy Spring rains? I live in AZ so any rain here is a good thing!
4. When I was randomly flipping through TV channels this week, I saw a show in which tattoo parlor employees received tattoos of a co-worker's face on their bodies. I can't imagine having a portrait of a colleague tattooed on me. But if someone forced you to receive a portrait tattoo (face only) of anyone, who would it be? Why? Does a dog count? If so then I would get one of my dog Ty. I think portrait tattoos usually turn out not looking very good!
5. Would you rather have a tattoo (any kind) or a nose ring? Tattoo! A small bird or flower on my hip would be cool.
6. Do you have any special plans for Easter? Ham dinner with my grandparents.
7. Cadbury Eggs or Reese Eggs? Mmmm- both are delicious! If I had to choose only one it would have to be Reese's Eggs. PB and chocolate is one of the best things on earth in my opinion!
8. What was the last thing/person you took a picture of? I took a picture of my dog on my phone not too long ago. He is always doing something cute!
9. What book are you reading now, or what was the last one? Emma by Jane Austen. I saw the Masterpiece Classic on PBS and it inspired me to go back and read the classic.
10. What do you think is the most difficult task when it comes to Spring cleaning? Getting rid of stuff... I am such a hoarder!
11. How many pairs of flip-flops do you own? Too many to mention! Probably has something to do with the whole hoarder thing!
12. Which color makes you happiest? PINK or GREEN or BLUE

To play along or check out everyone's answers check out 2nd Cup of Coffee:

I am also playing along with Wishful Wednesdays, which is also an Easter themed question...
'I wish' .... I could re-live one Easter memory from my childhood, and it would be the Easter that ______!

I loved Easter as a child and if I could go back and re-live it I would love to go back and do all the fun kid stuff of Easter...painting eggs, hunting for plastic treat-filled eggs in the back yard, and the best part of all, Easter baskets from the Easter bunny. My mom (aka the Easter Bunny) went all out on our baskets as kids and it honestly felt like a mini Christmas! I guess I will have to wait until I have my own kids to relive that magic again!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed Easter holiday!

Random Things About Me...Top 2 Tuesdays

This week for Top 2 Tuesday, Taylor is asking us to post two random facts about ourselves. Both of these are pretty embarrassing, but I guess blogging is about sharing the not so glamorous side of life too! ( : Here goes...

1. I missed my biochemistry final...on accident! My college classes always came with a syllabus and schedule of all the major exams. We had a special two weeks after classes were over in which all the final exams were given. Well, I was becoming a little bit of a slacker towards the end of that semester and was having my friends bring me copies of the notes. Usually the last day of class before finals start is a quick review of all the materials that will be on the final exam. Note the use of the word USUALLY! I again thought I would just copy the notes from a friend and then study like a mad woman before the final. The test date was TBD, but I figured I would get that info on the last day of class. Well, later that day I got a call from my friend asking how the test went. Test? But its not even finals week! Yup... I had missed my final! It was worth like 50% of my grade so I DEFINITELY would have failed without it! I e-mailed my professor and said I had a "personal emergency" and could not make it to class, (I am a bad liar and the fewer details I have to remember the better!) She was awesome and let me take it the next day. Funny now, but horrible then! I would like to tell you that this made me change my slacker ways but umm, I still had some copied notes here and there. Don't worry... I graduated! ( :

2. My bedroom light is on a 60 min timer. I always fall asleep with the light on and this drives my dad crazy! He decided that I would not have that option anymore and installed a timer. Now my light goes off every 60 min. If I am in my room for more than 1 hour, I have to get up and turn my timer dial back for another hour. Sad but true!

To check all the other random fun facts that everyone is posting head on over to The Undomestic Momma

Sunday Funday!

I must say I had a great weekend! Saturday was my friend's daughter's 7th birthday. It was a pool party with a magician act (complete with cute bunny) and an amazing cookie cake! Saturday night was a night out on Mill Ave with my bf and a bunch of our friends- drinks, dancing, and late-night pizza! Today I went to an awesome Mexican buffet with everyone who crashed at Dave's place. Then Dave took his friends flying and I was off to visit my BFF at her work. I wish weekends were three days instead of two! I am sure I'm not alone on that one! I am finally getting to play along at MannLand5's Getting To Know You!

1. Why did you start blogging? I originally started blogging to share my crafty things. You can check that one out here. After a while I wanted to have a place to talk about random everyday little things and here I am!
2. Who is the blog friend you most want to meet in real life? I am fairly new to the whole blogging thing, so I have not gotten to know anyone really well yet. I love reading so many blogs and I am sure most of the people I meet out there in bloggy world would make awesome real life friends too!
3. Why are you always concerned about losing that last 10 pounds even though your boyfriend/friends tell you that you look fine? Two words. Bathing suit! I love swimming/beach vacations and I like to feel good about myself when I am not so covered up. I can honestly say that I work out and try to stay in shape for myself not for anyone else!

4. What's the one thing you wish guys could understand about you? I am with Keely on this one- the men that I care about understanding me already do!

5. Tattoos. How many do you have and how many are visible when you are wearing your everyday clothes? A whole lotta nada. Yup, no tattoos for me! I thought about getting a little phoenix bird on my hip because I love my city and I love the idea of the bird rising from the ashes. I never got one because I #1- I am huge wuss when it comes to needles/pain and #2- I am not sure that it is something that I would always want on my body.... its mostly about the pain thing though, lol. 6. What was the best year of your life? That is a hard one! I have had some pretty great years in my life... high school was pretty great with all going to all the school dances and playing softball! I also had some amazing times in college and living on my own for the first time. I believe that if you live your life right, then the best times are always ahead!
7. Name three things that you would do if you were a man for a day: ??? I can't think of anything that I can't do as a girl? Haha- girl power!
8. What's your alcoholic drink of choice that always raises a few eyebrows?Sex On The Beach. Provocative name, but its fruity and fabulous! Glad I got to play along this week! If you want to play along head over to MannLand5

Friday Fun and A New Blog Look

Hooray for Friday! I am looking forward to this weekend! I have a poolside luau on Saturday for my friend's little girl's birthday and some quality time planned with my favorite people! Today I am playing along with Five Question Friday

1. Did you pass your driver's test on the first try? Yup. I like to think of myself as a pretty good driver (although I do get labeled as a granny by my friends... its best to be safe, right?! Plus I have to protect my lil pony!)
2. What is your most embarrassing moment? The one that comes to mind is from my freshman year of college. I was feeling really sick one morning, but I had to go to class. My English class had really strict attendance rules and I had already missed a couple classes... Obviously at that point I was wishing I hadn't wasted them on things like sleeping in and going out to breakfast with friends, LOL. I went to class and felt awful, but at least I was in the seat. About 10 min before class was over I started sweating and my stomach was churning and I knew I was going to be sick. I ran out of class, but I didn't make it to the bathroom! I threw up all down the stairs and immediately afterwards classes let out and everyone was staring at me and trying to avoid stepping in vomit! I really didn't know what to do! I didn't feel right just walking away and I felt so sick I could barely move! A janitor came by and helped me and got me to campus health too. I ended up having gastroenteritis and it was the sickest I have ever been in my life!

3. What TV show would you like to be on-Oprah, Biggest Loser, or What Not To Wear? Ooo. That's a tough one. It depends on what the Oprah show topic is... If its one of her give away shows then definitely sign me up!!! If its not the give away show, then I would go with What Not To Wear (although the haircut always scares me!)

4. Would you ever get plastic surgery and what kind? I probably never would. The idea of elective surgery scares me into accepting myself- haha. I would consider getting Botox. Has anyone done this? Again I am a big scardy cat, but it would be nice to delay wrinkles!

5. What are your favorite jeans to wear? I am obsessed with Sevens. Most of my jeans are Sevens now and I just love the way they fit! I also love Citizens and Joes.
Fun questions! If you wanna play along and check out everyones answers check out My Little Life:

My Little Life

I also want to play along with Friday Favorites from A Girl in Pearls. This week's topic is favorite comedy TV.

Favorite Fridays

I have a TON of comedy shows recorded on my DVR and its hard for me to pick a single favorite. Even though its been off the air for years I still laugh when I watch Friends! Its one of the few shows I own on DVD. I also still love watching re-runs of Sex and The City, King of Queens, The Simpsons, and Scrubs. I guess my favorite show that's still filming would be a tie between 3o Rock, The Office, and Desperate Housewives.

This is for Funny Fridays at Keeping Up With Kelly & Co. This picture just cracks me up. What a naughty lil thing!I also tried my hand at making a blog header and buttons. Let me know what you think! Happy Friday and hope your weekend rocks your socks off!

Walking On The Wild Side

I'm playing along again with Taylor's Top 2 Tuesday, which is always fun! Since the topic this week is two things you can't live without I am not including my favorite people (fam, friends, Dave) and going with some of my day to day faves...CANDY and my CAMERA! I love all kinds of candy! I have a serious sweet tooth and can't go too long without some kind of sweet treat! I love taking pictures, and I try to remember my camera on all the fun outings with family and friends. People sometimes tease me about being a shutterbug and Dave sometimes gets "impatient" when I take a ton, but everyone always loves seeing them! Pictures are a great way to share your life with the people you love that live far away, which is increasingly an issue for me as so many of my friends move across the country!

Speaking of pictures... you may have noticed my zoo pictures up top! This will be the last weekend that my boyfriend will be free for a while as he is starting some classes towards his master's degree, so he wanted to have an awesome weekend and we really did! We went out to dinner with my family for my grandma's 87th birthday! She is so amazing and such an inspiration! We went out with some friends to Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and did a little dancing. We also went swimming and saw Shutter Island. My favorite part though was going to the zoo! It was a gorgeous day, all the animals were out and we even had a tasty lunch at a nice restaurant! I do have a small confession to make... I love all the petting zoo/feeding experiences as much as most five year olds! This time I got to touch/feed the sting rays, tortoises, deer, goats, lorakeets, and best of all the giraffes! It really was a great day! I rounded out my awesome weekend with a night of making dinner with my BFF, drinking wine and watching Dancing With The Stars tonight! I guess it can all be summed up on one post-it note...

St Patty's Day Fail & Thoughtless Thurs

Soo... I was hoping to share some fun stories of green beer and Irish pubs, but as you may be able to tell from the title of this post... all did not go according to plan! I went over to my BFF's after work so we could get ready in our all our green glory together. After a few stops to pick up some friends, we headed to the pub. After a run in with officer friendly (minus the friendly part) about parking, we proceeded to the door. (This may be confusing to non-AZ people because I don't think many other states do this with their licenses... so sorry if I lose you at this point...)The bouncer looks at my ID and tells me he cannot accept it. I seriously thought he was kidding. I have been using this ID to get into bars for years! It is from the DMV, it is real, WTF? In AZ when you're underage your ID is vertical, then when you turn 21 you can get a normal horizontal one. I never bothered to get the new one, because I never had any problems with it! I guess they can have their liquor license revoked for accepting it! The bouncer was actually pretty nice about this, but it still totally sucked! So, instead of new cute pics, I am forced to share these oldies from St. Patty's day in Atlanta with my pharmacy friends.I ended up going out to eat with my sweetie, so I still had a pretty good night! Hope everyone else's celebration went better than mine! Check out the other fun pics the other gals post over at Katie F's blog and you have to see her awesome Europe pics! Is it weird to already miss Christmas in March? ( :

I also am playing along with Top 3 Thursday at Keeping Up With Kelly. I love spring! I would have to say my three favorite things about spring are finally getting to take the boat out, spring training games, and camping! Head on over and play along too!

All Dogs Go To Heaven

Yesterday was a hard day. I got a call from my BFF in the morning and I could barely hear her through her tears. Her beautiful and sweet puppy, Fancy, had been killed by a pit bull while she was hiking. She was completely heart broken and I had no great words of wisdom for her, but I brought her yellow roses and spent the whole day with her watching movies and trying to keep her mind off the terrible ordeal. She has been my best friend since we were 11 and it literally made me feel sick to see her in that much pain. I just wanted to share how important it is to keep your dogs on a leash. Even if your dog has never been violent before, you have no control over them if they are not on a leash. If that pit bull had been on his leash this whole thing could have been avoided. Its for their own safety, because you never know what other animals around you are capable of doing. In Memory of Little Miss Fancy Pants,
